1. Current cookie position
The core FinEng website is designed to function without advertising cookies, behavioural profiling or third-party analytics. The production build does not intentionally set non-essential cookies through its own front-end code.
The hosting, security or content-delivery environment may use strictly necessary cookies or comparable technical identifiers to protect the service, balance traffic or prevent abuse.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file stored through a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and server-side identifiers. They can support essential operation, preferences, measurement or advertising.
3. Categories
| Category | FinEng default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | May be used by hosting or security infrastructure | Security, availability, form protection and abuse prevention |
| Preferences | Not intentionally used in the published front-end build | Remember optional user choices |
| Analytics | Not intentionally enabled in the published build | Aggregate audience and performance measurement |
| Advertising / profiling | Not used | Targeting, cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising |
4. Contact form and server logs
The public contact form transmits the information entered to the website endpoint and does not require a tracking cookie. Security systems may record technical data such as IP address, timestamp, user agent, request status and abuse signals.
5. Browser controls
Most browsers allow a user to inspect, block or delete cookies and other stored website data. Blocking strictly necessary technology can prevent security or form functions from working correctly.
No consent banner is included because the core build does not use optional tracking. Consent controls must be added before non-essential analytics, embedded media, profiling or advertising technology is deployed where consent is required.
6. Future technology changes
Before introducing a new measurement, embedded-content or marketing service, the administrator should complete a privacy and cookie review, update this policy and implement consent controls where required.
